Radiant Smiles Family Dental

We live in an exciting world where improved dental technology means better treatment options for patients. At Radiant Smiles Family Dental, we are pleased to incorporate some of the latest in leading-edge dentistry to improve the patient experience. After all, high-tech dentistry often means two crucial advantages for patients: more accurate diagnoses and less time in the dental chair.

Here are some of the ways we use technology to make your visit to our South Beach, FL dental office as comfortable as possible.

Digital Radiographs

Dental x-rays are an essential diagnostic tool, and with today’s digital radiographs, we can see far beyond what can be viewed in a visual examination alone. We usually recommend that patients have x-rays taken once a year so that Dr. Sheng can monitor changes in your oral health. The convenience of the digital format means we can easily send x-rays to specialists or insurance companies, so there is less chance of treatment delays.

Anyone who is worried about the safety of digital x-rays needn’t be. Digital x-rays are safer than traditional film x-rays because they emit less radiation. We will provide you with a lead vest to wear during the x-ray to lower your exposure even more.

Digital x-rays are also better for the environment since they don’t require chemicals or film.

Rotary Endodontics

Without a doubt, the root canal is one of the most feared dental procedures. The truth about root canals, however, is that the pain that brings you in to the dentist office is far worse than the root canal treatment.

With technology such as rotary endodontics, root canal therapy is even easier and more precise—and the unpleasant noise you normally hear from dental instruments will be kept to a minimum.

Intraoral Camera

Digital radiographs provide great diagnostic value to your dentist, but they don’t offer a view of the smallest nooks and crannies of your mouth. That’s where an intraoral camera comes in. This tiny device, no bigger than a dental mirror, can give Dr. Sheng a clear view of the most remote spots of your mouth.

With the intraoral camera, minuscule spots of decay and barely-there tooth fractures can be seen before they become bigger problems. It also puts plaque deposits, excessive wear on teeth, and worn fillings into clear view.

Digital Records

We are pleased to keep digital versions of all patient records, which helps us to maintain a nearly paperless office.

Digital records are more accurate because there is no chance of misreading someone’s handwriting. They are also easily accessible, so if you call our office with questions, we can locate your records in seconds.

The digital format means your records are not vulnerable to theft, fire, or natural disasters.
