How long will it take to straighten my teeth?
Every patient is different, and the length of time it will take for your teeth to be straightened will depend on the complexity and cause of the malposition of the teeth. In general, it will take anywhere from three to 18 months to achieve the desired result with Invisalign invisible braces.
Invisalign invisible braces move the teeth gently with a series of clear plastic aligners. Every couple of weeks, the aligners are changed, continuing to nudge the teeth into the proper position. Unlike with traditional braces, the aligner system means fewer follow-up trips to the dentist during treatment because they do not have to be adjusted the way metal brackets and wires do.
Because the aligners are removed for eating and cleaning, it’s important that patients are diligent about wearing them for the prescribed number of hours each day. Most dentists recommend that you wear the aligners for at least 22 or 23 hours every day.
